He had the lead role in the Broadway musical Hair.

During these years, Barry has recorded over 40 albums, 3 of which went Gold and has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and has received numerous awards for his recordings and work with third world children.

He has had several Top 40 hits, the best known of course "Eve of Destruction", "Green Green" and "Greenback Dollar."
